Missouri-Pike/Pickeral Spot #1
The first spot that you will be able to catch pickeral/pike in is to the right of the top map section Last Songs Of Summer. Cast towards the wood that is sticking out of the water, not the log but the actual branches. It is important to use a Casting Spoon, you will want to select one of the smaller varieties with a size #1 or #2 hook. It is best to reel on speed #1 with a occasional stop and jerk motion, I have found this to be the most effective and have easily landed multiple Grass Pickeral size 05-0.7 pounds in a row. You will not get Chain Pickeral from this location. Due to the casting spoon use you may get the occasional small largemouth bass on the return near the log, i have on several occasions. Grass Pickeral give a average of 7+ xp per fish.
Missouri Pike/Pickeral Spot #2
The Second spot my favorite for getting Pickeral is on the pike map section, if you go as far left as you can along the shore you will reach this location. Cast towards the branches as far as you can I usually cast 120-150 feet and reel back slowly on reel speed #1. Use a Reel and jerk motion again reeling maybe 5-8 times in between the jerks, this will get a fish 90% of the time. Use the same Casting Spoon that i talked about for the other spot. The important thing to note about the downstream location is that you can occasionally get Chain Pickeral, which can grow to 3 pounds they are identified by the chain like stripes on them, they give excellent average xp 20+. Grass Pickeral here offer the same as the other spot.
Bass Spot #1
Note the Weed bed to the left, Bass hide out in it. The best early game method level #4 to fish for bass is to use Red Worms on a size 4 hook. Set your leader length to 15 and cast towards them, but not into the weeds, Bass are slow to take the bait sometimes so it is very important to not jump the gun and reel in too early. Another method is to use Spoons Casting Spoons with hooks #1-#4 and #1/0-#4/0 also work at higher level. Cast these up against or to the right of the furthest weeds, and reel in dont let the lure stop for long bass like a constant motion, jerking to the right and performing a stop and go can help to interest them, bass hit hard so it is important to quickly set the hook. The third and final method here to catch them is to use a Mini or just plain Bass Jig any size will work, use them the same way as you would a casting spoon, the mini will only produce young largemouth, but that is okay as this can help rookies to level up fast. The larger hooks 3/0 or so can produce up to 5 and 6 pound trophies like the fish below.
Bass Spot #2
Bass will also be lurking near the underwater log if you cast slightly to the left of the green boat you will land in the correct location. Be careful you can snag your lure quite badly. The style of bass fishing for this spot is the same as the spot to the left. Cast a casting spoon and retrieve it with a moderate speed, bass will usually bite from 120 feet out to about 50 past 50 they have never hit my line. So i would recommend that you just retrieve it. Bass jigs are the same idea, but reel them in at speed #2 this will help to keep them from getting snagged as they can be a little bit expensive to lose.
Panfish-Crappie/Bluegill
To fish for Crappie and Bluegill it is best to use a telescopic rod or a match rod, both of these are effective at using baits. Crappie and Bluegill are fast biters. You should use a hook sized #1-#2 they are small fish and they dont bite bigger ones really. For bait, red worms, bread, cheese, dough balls, and other baits all are effective but the best for rookies and reallly noobs in general is going to be dough balls. bread is alright but it doesnt get the bigger fish. Set your leader at 25-35 inches and if you can use the sport bobber if you dont have the sport bobber the chubby will also work. Cast Out towards the middle and wait, you can catch them casting virtually anywhere in missouri both locations on the map. Panfish do not offer good money, Trophies on the other hand offer decent xp and that is about all. If you cant fish anything bigger then by all means fish them, really the only other reason is for the ingame achievements.
Catfish
I dont have any specific pictures for catfish but the best way is to take a telescopic or match rod and cast out towards the left middle or to the middle near the green or yellow boat. About 35-50 feet set the leader to about 80-90 if applicable, Catfish will take a variety of baits but the overall best is Cutbait. You can use any that list catfish though but you pose risk of getting other fish. The best hooks are size 4, and size 1/0-4/0. Catfish are picky and will often play with the bait before they strike, they will hit it hard when they do, and often put up a reasonably good fight.
I wanted to add that to get bass at the lower pike section of the map, you should cast towards the branch in the middle of the river but be careful not to snag your lure.

I wanted to inform all of you that I am still working on this blog and that I am here to add some stuff that has changed since I was last able to update the blog.
Gar
Gar have been added to Missouri since I posted this blog and can be caught here but only by higher level players, If a way for noobies to catch them exists I will update but for now I am not aware of one.
Gar can be caught with a float rig, a simple bobber like the yellow and green one, is really all thats needed bobber wise. You will also need a hook size #2/0 and bait wise large minnows are a option set your leader to 30 inches as they are a surface fish compared to catfish. I know other baits exist to catch them but I am not able to test since I cannot catch them yet.
Update
I am looking for someone who can assist me in updating and maintaining this blog, I am also currently working on seeking a .com domain and hosting but cannot afford it, I will not be running ads on this site as they annoy people and I wouldnt do anything to others that I wouldnt like myself.
